Affordable Housing to Expand in Winthrop with a New Methow Housing Trust Neighborhood

The Methow Conservancy recently announced the donation of six acres in Winthrop's Heckendorn neighborhood to the Methow Housing Trust! Located near the Meadowlark Natural Area and Sullivan Cemetery, this land will enable MHT to develop the Larkspur Flats Neighborhood; a new permanently affordable neighborhood for full-time residents.

Originally acquired by the Conservancy in 2018 through a donation from supporters Tina and Eliot Scull, this property was identified as a potential site for affordable housing to address Winthrop’s housing crisis. MHT now plans to move forward with town annexation and development, which will help provide more housing options for local residents and support the community’s growing needs.
